Maja Stina visit to my studio

This week I was lucky enough to have the unique and most interesting Maja Stina come back into my studio. We have worked together before and this is always a bonus. It's partly a matter of trust and confidence but it's also about understanding each others styles and what we share in common in terms of creative urges.

Maja Stina has a strong look and is also an accomplished make-up artist so really knows what works for her. All we really needed to discuss was mood and the small but important detail of lip colour which we decided was going to be black. We put together a look from a combination of a garment that she had brought and one I had from the studio's collection to make a unique look.

 She'd gone with a completely shaved head for a while but came to the studio with a little bit of growth and suggested a boyish shave just to the sides which I particularly liked.

 

I love these strong images, beautiful and powerful. Such a great look and simply lit by one mid size but high quality well feathered softbox to the left. I'm a great lover of shadows because I am always looking to get more depth into my images.

And finally some minor changes to garments and accessories but keeping the dark and moody look.
